The Smith & Wesson Model 38 'Bodyguard' solved the problem every snub-nose carrier knows: the hammer catching on the draw. S&W's solution was to shroud the hammer internally, allowing double-action-only fire with nothing to snag on clothing or a pocket. The 'No Dash' designation makes this an early production example with original specifications. Lightweight alloy frame, 1-7/8 inch barrel, and five rounds of .38 Special in a package small enough to disappear in a jacket pocket. This is the gun that defined the pocket revolver category.
